Funeral services for Milford Eugene Box will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. He will be laid to rest at Fern Park Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the services.
He was born December 22, 1929, and entered into the Lord's presence on July 27, 2017, at the age of 87. Milford is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Box Juby and husband Richard of Spring, TX and Kathy Box Anderson and husband Marlan "June Bug" of Allen, LA; one brother, David Box of Natchitoches, LA; five grandchildren; and nine great grand children.
Milford is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Inez Durr Box; his school sweetheart and wife Barbara Anderson Box; and one brother Jack Box.
Milford and Barbara married November 23, 1950, and soon after, he was drafted into the Korean War. After returning home he worked for several years as a route director for Tom's Peanuts. In 1961, the couple bought the Towne House Restaurant in Natchitoches where they enjoyed many successful years building their business and working together. In his later years, he enjoyed his daughters and their families and many friends who came to visit him at the Courtyard of Natchitoches.
