Mr. Lonnie Keith “Boodler” Wagley, age 67, of Provencal, LA, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011, at Overton Brooks V A Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends at 5:00 PM Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Provencal First Baptist Church and will last all night until service time Sunday. The funeral service will be at Provencal First Baptist Church at 1:00 PM Sunday, February 6, 2011, with Rev. Roger Matkin officiating. Interment will be at Central Cemetery in Robeline, LA.
“Boodler” was a father of three, an infamous story teller, Grill-master, renowned welder of his time, and a vocal democrat and advocate for his town. You may have heard at least one of his many stories or drank coffee with him at Coaches. He served his country, volunteered his life for a cause, and now a soldier is coming home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Wagley and the Esselyne Dale Wagley; and one grandchild, Tyler Ward.
He is survived by his three daughters, Kristene Cruse and husband Stacy of Marthaville, LA, Kim Honeycutt and husband Charles of Robeline, LA, and "Kricket" Mitchell and husband Bruce of Many, LA; seven grandchildren, Emily Posey and husband Jonathan of Many, LA, Sarah Singletary and husband Derek of Marthaville, LA, Katie Cruse, Ashton Cruse, Jennifer Honeycutt, Cori Honeycutt, and Curtis Ward; one great grandchild, Case Singletary; and an adopted son, Danny Graves and wife Tammy of Provencal, LA.
Pallbearers will be Danny Graves, Matt Flynn, Joey Scarbrough, Wade Scarbrough, Dennis Scarbrough, and Kenny Turnley.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Randal Rhodes and Jared Rhodes.
