Amy Berda Dale, age 85, of Provencal, LA, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007, at the Natchitoches Nursing and Rehabilitation Nursing Home. She was born on December 16, 1921 at Flora, LA. She lived most of her life at Provencal where she raised her family and was a faithful member of the Provencal First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many many years. Ms. Dale loved to read, fish, cook, and crochet. She like potted plants as well. She was a good mother and grandmother who left her family with many fond and joyous memories and will be greatly missed by them.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Wesely David Dale; her parents, Bert Cargle and Mary Parson Cargle; and one sister, Helen Mitchell.
She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn Broadway and husband Eulas of Provencal, LA and Claudia Nelms and husband Billy of Tyler, TX; one son, David Dale of Provencal, LA; nine grandchildren, Rodney Broadway, Lawrence Broadway, Robin Broadway, Richard Nelms, Aubrey Nelms, Renee Starret, Lynn Nelms, David Dale, Jr., and Jaime Parker; four sisters, Flonnie Holland and husband Lavelle, Eurcle Davis, Etoy Staurt, and Elaine James; and two brothers, Foster Cargle and Ray Cargle and wife Anita.
Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. The visitation will be held at the Provencal First Baptist Church where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday, April 16, 2007. The funeral service will be at the Provencal First Baptist Church at 9:00 AM Tuesday, April 17, 2007, with Rev. Roger Matkin officiating. Interment will follow at the Provencal Cemetery in Provencal, LA.
