Memorial service for Sara Gayle Landrum Thompson will be held 3 PM Monday, February 21, 2011 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Rev. Larry Vaughn officiating. Mrs. Thompson, 74, of Natchitoches, La. died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in the Courtyard of Natchitoches Nursing Home in Natchitoches, La. She was a native and lifelong resident of Natchitoches, La. Mrs. Thompson had worked for Sears, Montgomery Wards, Natchitoches Parish Hospital as Dietary Supervisor and later, She and her husband owned and operated Thompson’s Citgo, Thompson’s Texaco in Campti and Thompson’s Texaco in Natchitoches, and Thompson’s Service Station, Inc. She was educated at Natchitoches High School and Northwestern State College, and Natchitoches Trade School Jewelry Class. She was a member of American Legion Junior Auxiliary, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and past Post President. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Franklin Landrum and Necia Stephens Landrum; sister, Geraldine ‘Jerry’ Taylor. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Floyd Thompson of Natchitoches, La.; son, Keith Wayne Thompson and his wife Susie of Natchitoches, La.; three grandchildren, Gregory W. Thompson, Brandi Thompson, and Christi Thompson; two great-grandchildren, Dillon Blaine Thompson and Sydney Michelle Fuller; sister, Eloise McCart of Natchitoches, La.; brother, Willard G. Landrum and his wife Betty of Dry Prong, La.; host of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to, St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, Memphis, Tn. or to the charity of the donor's choice.
