Funeral service for Ruby L. Neighbors will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Jim Shaw officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time on Monday, March 7, 2011 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Mrs. Neighbors, 87 years of age, passed away Wednesday, March 02, 2011 in Palestine, Texas. She was born July 14, 1923 to the late James Leonidas Shaw and the late Frances Lucinda Slayter Shaw. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dr. Frances Marie Shaw Dunn; and her brothers, Melvin Shaw and John Earl Shaw. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Joe Cochran of Palestine, TX; grandson Nathan Hanna and his wife Ashlee Beck of Austin; brother, Bill Shaw and his wife Justine of Natchitoches; sister, Kayla Brossett and her husband A.L. of Alexandria and Rita Walters of Lake Charles; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Keith Brossett, John Shaw, Richard Shaw, Bill Shaw, Jacob Shaw and Kelly Vigo.
