Funeral service for William Andrew 'Billy' Gibson, II will be held 11 AM Saturday, March 19, 2011 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Rev. Perry Webb officiating. Burial will be in Memory Lawn Cemetery at Natchitoches, La. Visitation will be Friday, March 18, 2011 from 5 PM until 9 PM and on Saturday, March 19, 2011 from 8 AM until service time in the funeral home. Mr. Gibson, 83, of Natchitoches, La., died Thursday, March 17, 2011, at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La. He was a native of Natchitoches, La. He was a retired owner of a local financial company. Mr. Gibson was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Natchitoches, La., Kiwanis Club, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was chairman of the Natchitoches Christmas Festival for two years, 1963 and 1964. He was the oldest initiated member of Kappa Alpha Gamma Psi Chapter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Simpson Gibson; parents, Walter Dawson Gibson, Sr. and Marcelite Lemoine Gibson; sister, Cora Lee Guillory; brother, W. D. 'Hoot' Gibson, Jr. He is survived by three sons, Billy Gibson, III and fiancé' Elizabeth Welch of Woodworth, La., Arty Gibson of Alexandria, La., and Gary Gibson and wife Marilyn of Dallas, Tx.; three grandchildren, Andrea Foust, Leslie Tuminello, and Rayne Gibson; three great-grandchildren, Brinley Foust, Gannon Foust, and Brooke Tuminello.
