Jimmy Lamaine Howell, Sr., age 69, of Robeline, LA, passed Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Life Care Hospital in Shreveport, LA. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday, March 24, 2011. The funeral service will be at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home at 4:00 PM Friday, March 25, 2011, with Rev. Kevin Taylor officiating. Interment will be at Provencal Cemetery in Provencal, LA.
Mr. Jimmy loved his children and grandchildren. He could fix anything that was broken, whether it was a car at Daray’s Motor Company or a grandchild’s broken heart. He was witty and quick with a comeback, but was loving and fun to be around. He loved to travel with his wife, Shirley. He was truly a great man, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Campbell Howell; one son, Deano Howell; one step-son, Ronnie Campbell; one daughter, Toni Howell Lewis; and his parents, Elbert Howell and Mattie Manasco Howell.
He is survived by his two daughters, Tammie Walker of Natchitoches, LA and Deana Goodman of Provencal, LA; two sons, Jimmy Howell, Jr. of Gautier, MS and Jamie McDonald of Martin, LA; one step-son, Donnie Campbell of Provencal, LA; one son-in-law, Johnnie Lewis of Natchitoches, LA; sixteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one brother, Roger Howell of Robeline, LA.
Pallbearers will be Johnnie Lewis, Brad Calvert, Brandon Howell, Roman Campbell, Cory Campbell, and Shelby Borders.
George Matthews will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
