Frances Townsend

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Frances Townsend will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Townsend, 95 years of age, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011 in Natchitoches, LA with her children by her side. She was born October 31, 1915 to the late Frank and Eva Maricelli in Campti, LA. She was also preceded in death by her husband Hal E. Townsend, Jr. and her sister, Kathryn “Totsy” Lestage. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Hal Townsend of Arlington, TX; daughters, Dee Dee Gaspard and her huband Steve of Bossier City and Carolyn Dennis and her husband Rand of Baton Rouge; she was blessed with three grandchildren, Steve Gaspard, Jr. and his wife Jessica of Houston, TX, Lorie Logan and her husband Ryan of San Antonio, TX and Blake Dennis and his wife Carrie of San Antonio, TX as well as three great grandchildren. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include, Steve Gaspard, Rand Dennis, Steve Gaspard, Jr., Blake Dennis, Bob Lestage and Kim Gaspard. The family would like to extend gratitude for the care of Mrs. Townsend to Ola Hamilton, Mary Moran, Shannon Kato, Adelle Moran, Brenda Robinson as well as all the staff at Natchitoches Assisted Living. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Hospice Foundation.
