Funeral service for Louis Warrant Balthazar will be held 11 AM Friday, April 29, 2011 in St. John the Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Obiekwe officiating. Burial will be in Cloutierville Catholic Cemetery with military graveside rites. Visitation will be Friday, April 29, 2011 from 8 AM until 10 AM in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel. Mr. Balthazar, 79, of Natchitoches, La., died Monday, April 25, 2011, in Rapides Regional Medical Center at Alexandria, La. He was a native of Melrose, La. He was a retired butcher. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was a veteran of Korean Conflict serving in the U. S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Balthazar and Virginia Metoyer Balthazar. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruby LaCour Balthazar of Natchitoches, La.; four daughters, Pamela Ann Johnson of Atlanta, Ga., Marsha Shayne Remo and husband Kyle of Natchitoches, La., Laura Faye Balthazar and fiancée Mark LaCour of Natchitoches, La., and Ruby Tamara Balthazar of Natchitoches, La.; six grandchildren, Christopher Carderro of Atlanta, Ga., Samantha Ellis and husband James of South Carolina, Clint Jackson Tyler of Natchitoches, La., Miguel Raoul Garcia and wife Joy Ammons of Natchitoches, La., Samson Teddy McWherter of Chicago, Il., and Dawn'te Damian Metoyer of Natchitoches, La.; thirteen great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Damian Metoyer, Samson McWherter, Mark LaCour, Kyle Remo, Steve Roque, and Chad Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Miguel Garcia and Clint Tyler.
