Carrye Smith McKillips

Funeral service for Carrye Smith McKillips will be held 1 PM Friday, April 29, 2011 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Rev. Lee Dickson officiating. Graveside service will be held 4 PM in Harrisonburg Cemetery at Harrisonburg, La. Visitation will be Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 5 PM until 7 PM and on Friday, April 29, 2011 from 8 AM until service time in the funeral home. Mrs. McKillips, 93, of Natchitoches, La., died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport in Shreveport, La. She was a native of Harrisonburg, La. She was a retired educator for 23 years. Mrs. McKillips was a Natchitoches Parish School Board member in the mid 1980's. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lansing McKillips, Sr.; parents, James Erastus Smith and Lessie Morris Smith; sister, Bessie Rinehart; brother, Morris James Smith. She is survived by one daughter, Rebecca DiCarlo and husband Michael of Ruston, La.; one son, Robert L. McKillips, Jr. and wife Leah of Minden, La.; two grandchildren, Carrifrances Alexander and husband Jason of Ruston, La. and Kristy McKillips of Bastrop, La.; great grandson, Luke Alexander; special nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be Edwin Donaho, Rev. Harry Thompson, Tim Murchison, Louis Hines, Gil Gilson, and A. J. Smith.
