Dixie Allison Starks

Dixie Allison Cox Starks, age 80, of Robeline, La., passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at her residence in Vowells Mill, LA after a short battle with cancer. She was born April the 5th, 1927 at Robeline, LA. She lived the latter part of her life in Vowells Mill, LA. She liked to work the stock market, collect antiques, refinish furniture, work in the garden, and visit and take care of her family and friends. She was a good mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law. She will be dearly missed by those around her, but she will never be forgotten. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Cox and Alice Canady Cox; one son, Stanley Duane Holland; and two brothers, James Roy Cox, Jr. and John Paul Cox. She is survived by her husband Robert James Starks of Vowells Mill, LA; one son, Timothy George Richards of Vowells Mill, LA; one daughter, Edith Allison Starks Gaff and husband Mark of Fort Wayne, IN; one daughter-in-law, Cassandra Holland of Leesville, LA; one sister, Marlyn Higgins of Lufkin, TX; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, May 18, 2007. The funeral service will be held at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 19, 2007 with Rev. Matthew Pagels officiating. Interment will follow at New Cedron Cemetery in Vowells Mill, LA.
