John E. Prudhomme, age 83, of Bermuda, LA, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at his home in Bermuda, LA. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a successful farmer and rancher. Mr. John served in the Navy during World War II on the USS Chilton. John always held a good sense of humor and was always willing to create a smile in someone’s life. He was a member of the St. Charles Chapel in Bermuda, the Knights Of Columbus, the American Legion, Veteran Of Foreign Wars, and the Louisiana Cattleman’s Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Joseph Prudhomme and Lula Covey Prudhomme, three brothers, and four sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Maxine Hays Prudhomme; four daughters, LuAnne P. Terry of Haughton, LA, Angela P. Taylor and husband Robert of Bossier City, LA, Lee P. Vickers and husband Randy of Bermuda, LA, Clare P. Trichel and husband Dewayne of Creston, LA; two sons, John E Prudhomme, Jr. of Macclenny, FL and William J. Prudhomme and wife Ruth Ann of Natchitoches, LA; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 9:00 Friday, May 18, 2007. A rosary service will be held at 7:15 PM during the visitation. The funeral service will be held at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 19, 2007 with Rev. Jacob Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at the Catholic Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA.
