Ruth James Hampton

Funeral service for Mrs. Ruth James Hampton will be 11 am Wednesday, May 18, 2011 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis with Ron Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Methodist Cemetery, Natchitoches, LA. Visitation will be from 9 am until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Ruth James Hampton passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 in Baton Rouge, LA. She was born in Marthaville, LA to the late Frank James and late Willie Mae Ingram James on June 14, 1921. She attended Northwestern State University and received an associate’s degree in bookkeeping. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Hampton; brothers, Earl James and Dick James. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Bobby J. Gouedy and her husband Jesse of Baton Rouge; grandsons, Jason Gouedy and wife Deborah of Loranger, LA and Joel Gouedy and his wife Sharon of Ethel, LA; great grandchildren, Jesse Gouedy III, Jason Gouedy II, and Olivia Bryant; sisters and brothers, Louise Maroney of Pleasant Hill, LA, Huey James and wife Lucille of Redwood City, CA; sister-in-laws, O'Dell James of Lumpher, TX and Deanne James of Marthaville, LA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews Memorial donations in Mrs. Ruth’s name may be made to St. Judes Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9956 or charity of your choice.
