Funeral service for Lelia Rachal Gongre were held Sunday, May 27, 2007 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Rev. Jacob Thomas officiating. Burial was in Memory Lawn Cemetery at Natchitoches, La., Mrs. Gongre, 91, of Plaquemine, La., died Thursday, May 24, 2007, at Riverwest Medical Center in Plaquemine, La. She was a native of Natchitoches, La. and former resident of Natchitoches, La. She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Gongre, Sr.; son, Harry Gongre, Jr.; parents, Walter Rachal and Adorastina LaCaze Rachal; one brother, Wilson Gongre; She is survivied by one son, Billy Gongre and wife Betty of Plaquamine, La.; daughter in law, Peggy Gongre of Natchitoches, La.; grandchildren,Derwin Gongre and wife Carla of Denham Springs, La., Carla Ann Gongre of Bossier City, La., Vickie Sweet and husband Mel of Denham Springs, La., Theda Rae Smith and husband Steve of Plaquemine, La.; four great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
