Meade H. Miller

February 10, 1941 — June 16, 2011

Meade H. Miller, age 70, of Provencal, LA., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 16, 2011, at the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. Meade fought the good fight, never gave up and praised his Savior, Jesus Christ, until the very end. The family will receive visitors at the First Baptist Church of Provencal, on Saturday evening, June 18, 2011, at 5:00 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday, June 19, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. Bro. Bruce Mitchell will conduct Meade’s Celebration of Life service assisted by long time friends, Bro. Roger Matkin and Bro. Randy Oliff. Interment will follow at the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Vowells Mill, LA. Meade was born February 10, 1941 to parents, Eric L. Miller and Effie Foshee Miller. Meade was a faithful Christian friend, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Meade loved the First Baptist Church of Provencal where he humbly served as a deacon for 23 years. Meade had a passion to play the guitar for the Lord and spent many years playing both in church, and with his wife and friends in a gospel band. Through all of his years of illness, he never failed to share the gospel with everyone who came in contact with him and his only wish in life was to be able to attend church with his family and play his guitar again. Meade was preceded in death by his loving parents, Eric and Effie Miller and two “special” brothers, Charles Foshee and Jerry Foshee. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mary Ann McClory Miller; his children, Andrea N. Maley and husband, Anthony, of Provencal; and LeAnne J. Kijanski and husband, Glenn, of Provencal; five precious grandchildren that were the center of his universe, MiKenzie Maley, Morgan Maley, Melanie Maley, Erica Kijanski and Dylan Kijanski, all of Provencal; one brother, Bobby Ray Miller and wife, Linda, of Provencal; two “special” brothers, Oscar Foshee and wife, Judy, of Vidor, TX.; Wayne Foshee and wife, Bobbie, of Schenectady, NY.; one “special” sister, Harriet Foshee Wood-Phelan and husband, Joe, of Parrish, FL; one sister-in-law, Dottie Smith, of Provencal; and one brother-in-law, Fred McClory, Jr. and wife, Charlotte, of Texarkana, AR.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Anthony Maley, Glenn Kijanski, Lyle Miller, Nathan Miller, Bryan Miller, Dwight Smith, and Roger Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be grandson, Dylan Kijanski, and the men of Provencal First Baptist Church. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Harmony Home Health, whom he loved like his own family-especially his nurses Brandi Warren, Vivian Johnson, and Annette Young, and his long-time caregiver, Priscilla Dumars. Special thanks are also extended to Dr. John Harris, Dr. Ana Pere’, Dr. Javier Pere’, and the staff of Natchitoches Regional Medical Center and LA Extended Care Hospital, with whom Meade became good friends over the past six years; and to all those individuals and churches who have continually lifted Meade up in prayer during his illness. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Tim. 4:7.
