Robert W. Stricker

Services for Robert W. Stricker, 89, will be at 11:00 AM on June 27 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. John Karle. Interment will be in Detroit, Michigan. Robert was born February 25, 1922 in Macomb County, Michigan and passed away at Natchitoches Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on June 24, 2011. He was a cabinet maker for more than 40 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Elizabeth Stricker; his wife, Dorothy; his daughter, Kathryn; his brother, Edgar; and his twin brother, Richard. He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Russell and husband Jack of Natchitoches, LA; a son, Robert Stricker and wife Lucie of Farmington, MI; a sister, Arlene Leich of Sterling Heights, MI; five grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Special thanks are offered to the staff of Natchitoches Nursing & Rehabilitation Center who cared for Robert for more than six years. Also, special thanks go to the staff of Louisiana Extended Care Hospital of Natchitoches, Hospice of Natchitoches, Dr. John Hogg, Dr. William Ball, and Dr. Michelle Mayeux for their skill, expertise, and caring. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of the giver’s choice.
