Fred Lodrige

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Fred Lodrige will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Gorum, LA. Interment will follow in Lodrige family cemetery under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends after 5 pm on Tuesday, June 28th at the Lodrige home located at 246 Ezzie Basco Road in Gorum, LA. Mr. Lodrige, 80 years of age, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011 with his family by his side. He was born July 1, 1930 to the late Joseph Lodrige and the late Ida Kerry Lodrige in Gorum, LA. He was preceded in death by his son, Fred David Lodrige. He proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. For 23 years, he drove a school bus for the Natchitoches Parish School System. Fred was a devoted family man and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 57 years, Margie Kerry Lodrige; children, Joanne Hyslop and her husband Don of Meadow Lakes, Texas, Patricia Mize and her husband Horace of Hineston, LA, Renda Lodrige of Dry Prong, LA, Beverly Lodrige of Pineville, LA and Ryan Lodrige of Gorum, LA; his brother, Joseph Leroy Lodrige and his wife Lila Hunter Lodrige; he was blessed with 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; and good friends, Jack Nichols, Eugene Basco, Francis Bolton and Johnny Pace. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Jack Nichols, Horace Mize, Eugene Basco, Kem Woodard, Michael Antee, Kevin Hyslop, David Hyslop and J.C. Coutee
