Funeral service for Leta-Mae Mildred Box Waters will be held 2 PM Sunday, June 10, 2007 in Blanchard-St. Denis Chapel with Rev. James Poole officiating. Burial will be in Provencal Cemetery at Provencal, La. Visitation will be Saturday, June 9, 2007 from 5 PM until 7 PM and on Sunday, June 10, 2007 from 8 AM until service time in the funeral home.
Mrs. Waters, 95, of Flora, La., died Thursday, June 7, 2007, at Murfreesboro Nursing Center in Murfreesboro, Ar.
She was born on January 3, 1912 in Provencal, La.
Mrs. Waters was a long time member of Weaver United Methodist Church and had lived in Flora for more than 60 years. During that time She was very involved with the community and was always ready to help anyone who needed it. She loved to cook and could always be counted on to 'bring a dish' to wherever it was needed. She also loved to work in the garden .
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jefferson Waters; sons, Tommy Roger Waters and Thomas Larry Waters; three sisters and three brothers; parents, Grover Cleveland Box and Mattie Olia Duke Box.
She is survived by her one daughter, Carol Waters Spaulding and husband Harold "Bud" of Murfreesboro, Ar.; one son, Jerry Darrell Waters and wife Norma of Shreveport, La.; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Marie Box of Deville, La.; her cousin, Monroe Duke of Sacramento, Ca.; and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Don Jordan, J. L. Thibodeaux, Dustin Motley, Cody Motley, John Waters, and Tommy Waters.
