Laura (Parish) Doolittle

A service to celebrate the life of Laura Doolittle will be 2:30 pm Sunday, July 24, 2011 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Reverend James Tidwell officiating. Interment will follow at Lambertown Cemetery, Robeline, LA under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Mrs. Doolittle went home to be with her heavenly father on Thursday, July 21, 2011. She was born July 13, 1923 to the late Cleveland Gordie Parish and the late Annie Elizabeth (Page) Parish in Robeline, LA. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hyman Doolittle; sister, Bessie Lee Cotton; and brothers, J. R. Parish and Cleveland Parish. Her family, in which she deeply loved and that remains to cherish her memory, includes her sons, Sherman Doolittle and his wife Sandra of Robeline and Wayne Hyman Doolittle, Sr. and his wife Nelda of Ferriday; sisters, Rita Doolittle of Natchitoches, Laverne Thomasee and her husband Frank of Zwolle, and Vera Gislar and her husband George of Dallas, TX; a brother, Loudis Parish of Robeline; 6 grandchildren, Wayne Doolittle, Jr. and his wife Linette of Ferriday, Gordon Doolittle and his wife Joyce of Bartlet, TN, Brenda Wheeler of Beaver Creek, OH, Robert Doolittle and his wife Misty of Sicily Island, Matthew Doolittle of Hammond and Mark Doolittle of Beaumont, TX.; 5 great grandchildren, Brandon Wayne Sineff, James Robert Sineff, Ryan Wade Doolittle, Gavin Lewis Doolittle, and Emily Faith Doolittle. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Wayne Doolittle, Jr., Gordon Doolittle, Robert Doolittle, Matthew Doolittle, Mark Doolittle and David Parish. Mrs. Doolittle was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and sibling. Her greatest passion was the devotion she showed toward her family which was followed by her love of gardening and sewing. She was a long time and active member at the Church of Christ. The family would like to extend a deep appreciation for the care of Mrs. Doolittle in her later years to Dr. Archie Breazeale, the staff at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center and the staff at Natchitoches Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
