Graveside service for Pearl Padgett Slaughter will be held 11 AM Thursday, June 21, 2007 in L. C. Weaver Memorial Cemetery at Campti, La. under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches, La. Visitation will be Thursday, June, 21, 2007 from 8:30 AM until 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Mrs. Slaughter, 79, of Chestnut, La. died Monday, June 18, 2007, in her daughter's residence at Denton, Tx. She was a native of Plant City, Fl. She was retired owner operator of Black Lake Lodge at Creston, La. She attended church at Family Worship Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Alex Slaughter, Sr.; brother, Walter Carl Padgett; parents, Walter Raleigh Padgett and Georgia Mae Kilpatrick Padgett. She is survived by her one daughter, Linda M. Lora and husband Felix of Denton, Tx.; grandchildren Joseph P. Matherne, Sr and wife Alice of Jefferson City, Mo., Michael B. Matherne of Las Colinas, Tx., and Marie Lora-Campbell and husband David of Dallas, Tx.; great-grandson, Joseph P. Matherne, Jr. of Jefferson City, Mo.; one son, Joseph A. Slaughter, Jr. and wife Toni; grandchildren, Jospeh A. Slaughter III and wife Bonnie, Tammy S. Stewart and husband Chad; great-grandson, Austin Stewart all of Independence, La. two brothers, Jettie Earl Padgett and wife Betty and Raleigh Paul Padgett and wife Ida Mae all of Plant City, Fl.
