Funeral service for JoAnn Franklin Barker will be held 10 AM Monday, June 25, 2007 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Rev. Tony Moran and Sister Peggy Maricelli officiating. Graveside service will be 1 PM Monday, June 25, 2007 in Forest Park Cemetery West in Shreveport, La. Visitation will be Sunday, June 24, 2007 from 5 PM until 9 PM and on Monday, June 25, 2007 from 8 AM until service time in the funeral home. Mrs. Barker, 64, of Marthaville, La., died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport in Shreveport, La. She was a native of Hamlin, Ar. She was a homemaker She was preceded in death by her husband Sammie Barker; grandson, Samuel David Barker; brother, Jim Franklin; sister Kay Franklin; parents, Martin Franklin and the late Vernia Holmes Franklin. She is survived by her three daughters, Karen Moran and Tawania Sims and husband David both of Robeline, La.; two sons, Virgil Barker and Sam Barker both of Robeline, La.; step-daughter, Lottie Williams of Haughton, La.;step-son, Kenny Barker of Shreveport, La.; grandchildren, Bobby Bufkin, Michael Jordan, Danielle Nooning, Brandon Barker, Kara Williams, and Tara Williams; two great-grandchildren, Brenden Bufkin and Elliot Nooning four sisters, Betty Thigpen of Forest City, Ar., Dot Stokes of Wynne, Ar., Deloris Lawson of Mississippi, Linda Lyche of Marion, Ar.,; two brothers, Gene Franklin of Marion, Ar. and Wayne Franklin of McCrory, Ar. Pallbearers will be Bob Chambers, Doug Birdwell, Harry Van Hook, John Jordan, Toby Carnline, and Tony Bufkin.
