Gwendolyn Rachal Aubry

In the peace of the Lord, Mrs. Gwendolyn Rachal Aubry passed away on the 13th of August 2011 in her beloved country home on Cane River Lake. Mrs. Aubry was a graduate of Xavier University and a retired Orleans Parish Public School teacher. Hurricane Katrina ended her career with the New Orleans Recreation Cultural Department where she was deeply loved. She is predeceased by her parents Anthony and Genevieve Rachal, Sr. , and brothers Anthony M. Rachal, Jr. and Vincent F. Rachal. She is survived by her daughter Diane Aubry Riley and husband Ernest, son Kenneth Aubry and wife Paula and beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Friday, the 19th of August 2011 from 9:30 A.M. until service time at 11 A.M. at the St. Augustine Catholic Church hall in Melrose, LA. The holy rosary will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. in the church hall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held following the visitation at 11 A.M. at the St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Jacob Thomas as the celebrant. A committal service will follow the funeral services in the St. Augustine Mausoleum. Immediately following the interment, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the Church Hall at St. Augustine Catholic Church.
