James Howell, 84, a resident of Clarence, Louisiana, died on August 21, 2011 at the Veterans Hospital in Alexandria, LA. He was born on February 8, 1927.
James was an auto mechanic for many years of his life in Natchitoches and Grant Parishes. He was a World War II Veteran.
Funeral services for James Howell will be held Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches, with Rev. Chuck LaCroix officiating.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Elmena Vercher Howell; parents, Ophelia and Robert Howell, one daughter, Mickey Fleming; a sister, Gladys Butts; and a brother, LeeRay Howell.
He is survived by one son, Jimmy Howell, of Clarence, two grandsons, Randy Fleming and Ken Fleming both of Columbus, Tennessee, one granddaughter, Eva Howell of Natchitoches, and six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Cheyenne Welch, Scott Pender, Keith Vercher, Weldon Howell, Larry Howell and James Trammel.
Friends may call at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery outside of Clarence, LA.
