Dorman "Doc" Norris

Funeral Services for Dorman “Doc” Norris will be held on Wednesday, the 7th of September 2011 at 11 A.M. at the Gorum Baptist Church in Gorum with the Reverend Mike Dubois serving as the celebrant. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Tuesday, the 6th of September 2011 from 5 P.M. until 9 P.M. at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches with the Holy Rosary to be conducted at 7 P.M. Visitation will also be at the Gorum Baptist Church starting at 9 A.M. on Wednesday. Burial will be at Gorum Cemetery. Mr. Norris, age 84, of Gorum, LA., passed away Sunday, the 4th of September, at the LSU Medical Center in Shreveport. He is predeceased by his wife, Mildred “Billie” Norris ; his parents, Lee and Pearl Norris ; brother, Jim Lee Norris ; two sons, William and Benjamin. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Charles “Rick” Guimaraes of Gorum ; two brothers, Huey and Jake ; two sisters, Yvonne and Mildred ; his numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be James E. Rachal, Jack Nichols, Clyde Troquille, Clayton Troquille, Joseph Lodridge, and Jesse Chambers. Honorary pallbearers will be Carrol Carnahan, George Edwards, Lavell George, and Wayne Martin.
