Cheryl Lynne Perot Donaho, age 55, of Natchitoches, LA, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 7, 2007, at Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem, VA. She was born on July the 7th, 1952 in Natchitoches, LA. She attended St. Mary’s School in her early years where she really enjoyed playing softball and other activities. She then attended college and earned a Masters Degree. Cheryl, also known as “Mama D”, started teaching at St. Mary’s after college and taught for 23 years. She then started teaching at Northwestern State University and taught there for 4 years until her death. Cheryl’s life was dedicated to her family and friends, and this was displayed thru her teaching and mentoring at St. Mary’s and Northwestern for over 27 years, as well as still being active in the softball program at St. Mary’s. She was a loving person and touched many lives while she was with us. She will be dearly missed.
She was the daughter of the late Felix Perot and Virginia Fern Perot of Natchitoches, LA.
She is survived by her husband John W. Donaho, Sr.; her daughter, Jessica Lynne Donaho of Lafayette, LA; her son, John W. Donaho, Jr. and wife Heather of Roanoke, VA; three brothers, Felix Clinton Perot, Jr. And wife Dee Dee of Natchitoches, LA; Edward Joseph Perot and wife Kate of Ruston, LA, and William Andrew Perot and wife Angie of Natchitoches, LA; three grandchildren, Rachel Ann, Ashley Marie, and Noah William Donaho, all of Roanoke, VA; four nephews, Felix Clinton Perot, III of Natchitoches, LA, Joseph Brant Perot and wife Christina of Natchitoches, LA, Edward Joseph Perot of Ruston, LA, and Joshua Adams Perot of Ruston, LA; and three nieces, Meghan Perot Bailey and husband Charlie of Dry Creek, LA, Anna Christyn Perot of Natchitoches, LA, and Hannah Machelle Perot of Natchitoches, LA.
Pallbearers will be Felix Clinton Perot, Joseph Brant Perot, Edward Joseph Perot, Jr., Joshua Adams Perot, Charlie Alfred Bailey, and Michael Paul McLauren. Honorary pallbearers will be the Lady Tigers Softball Team from St. Mary’s.
Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday, July 11, 2007. A rosary service will be held at 6:30 pm during the visitation. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, on July 12, 2007 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Natchitoches, LA. Interment will be at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. Online condolences may be given at www.blanchardstdenisfuneralhome.com.
