Funeral service for Ezell Possoit Frantom Doolittle will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2011 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Deacon Joe Peltier officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA.
Mrs. Doolittle, 103 years of age, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Courtyard of Natchitoches. Ezell was born December 4, 1907 to the late Averace Possoit, Sr. and Zema Rachal Possoit in Cypress, LA. She was a loving and devoted mother as well as step mother. She was noted for helping others with whatever need one might have whether it be financial or otherwise. Over her many years she was employed by Dalmes Laundry, L.H. Johnson Wholesale, Hollywood Maxwell and Natchitoches Parish Hospital. She was a member of the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Natchitoches and a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Mayo Frantom Gallien Vascocu and husband Troy, Vida Frantom Cason, Dora Frantom Crow and husband James, Sr., Billy E. Doolittle and wife Shirley Roberts, her brother, Averace Possoit, Jr., 16 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
She is predeaceased by her parents Averace Possoit, Sr. and Zema Rachal Possoit, her first husband Roy B. Frantom, her second husband Norrie Doolittle, her sister Julia Possoit Rachal, her brothers, Cyriel Lee Possoit and Cleveland Possoit, her son Frank “Buddy” Lavon Doolittle, her son in laws, Columbus Gallien, Jr. and Larris Delton Cason, two nephews, Paul Possoit and Cleveland Possoit, Jr., one niece, Ann Bauer, one grandson in law, Michael J. Lipp.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be her grandsons James Crow, Jr., Tony Cason, Jimmy Doolittle, Robert Doolittle, Michael Gallien and Roy Gallien.
Honorary pallbearers will be Richard “Ricky” Cason and close friend Neal Bennett.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Courtyard of Natchitoches, Hospice of Natchitoches and Dr. Michelle Mayeaux and staff.
