Julia Rachal

Julia Possoit Rachal, age 93, of Natchitoches, LA, passed away Monday, July 16, 2007, at the St Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA. She was born on November the 1st, 1913 in Cypress, LA. Mrs. Julia moved to Natchitoches in her early 20's and spent most of the rest of her life there. She loved to play bingo, travel (especially to the Smoky Mountains), and spend time at church services. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was also a member of Catholic Daughters. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was a compassionate lady and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Rachal, her parents, Averiste Possoit, Sr. and Zemae Rachal Possoit; one great great grandchild, Hunter French; and two brothers, Cleveland Possoit and Lee Possoit. She is also survived by her two daughters, Mary Nell Moreau and husband Melvin of Lena, LA and Loraine LaCour and husband Charles of Natchitoches, LA; four grandchildren, Dwayne Moreau and wife Liz of Van Buren, AR, Debra Cheatwood and husband David of Natchitoches, LA, Terri Honeycutt and husband Cody of Provencal, LA, and Larry LaCour and wife Margaret of Robeline, LA; eleven great-grand children, Austin Moreau, Lindsey French, Kristi Gilcrease, Craig Wagner, Bradley LaCour, Tanner Ross, Stephanie Jordan, Leslie Ross, Rachal Cheatwood, Crista Cheatwood, and Kyle Heard; four great great-grandchildren; one sister, Ezell Doolittle of Natchitoches, LA; one brother, Averiste Possoit, Jr. And wife Jeanette of Pineville, LA; and two brother-in-laws, Vernon Rachal and Charles Rachal and wife Shelby. Pallbearers will be, David Cheatwood, Cody Honeycutt, Kirby Moreau, Johnny Possoit, Ricky French, and Nick Gilcrease. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday, July 17, 2007. There will be a rosary service held at 7:00 PM during the visitation. The funeral service will be at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home at 4:00 PM Wednesday, July 18, 2007 , with Rev. Harold Imamshah officiating. Interment will be at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the L.T.C.U. at the N. R.M.C. as well as the staff at the St. Francis Cabrini Hospital.
