Funeral service for Irma Eaves will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Creston Baptist Church in Creston, LA with Rev. John Elliot officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Creston, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on November 3, 2011 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA.
Irma Eaves, 93 years of age, passed away November 2, 2011. Irma was born August 16, 1918 to the late Willie Walker and Mattie Killingsworth Walker in Creston, LA. Mrs. Irma was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was very soft spoken, humble, and was very active in Creston Baptist Church. She was a hard worker, she loved to crochet and knit, and spend time with her family. She enjoyed cooking and spending time working in the yard. She leaves behind many memories and cherished moments, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was survived by her two sons, Keith Eaves and wife Ruth of Natchitoches, LA and Harry Eaves and wife Dee Dee of Coushatta, LA; six grandchildren, Heather Eaves, Brian Eaves, Emily Eaves, Trevor Eaves, Tammy Young, and Tara Swaim; and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewel Eaves; her parents, Willie Walker and Mattie Killingsworth Walker; and one son, Glenn Eaves.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Trevor Eaves, Brian Eaves, Hunter Wilson, David Rabalais, Randy Stewart, and Jim Jagers.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Natchitoches, the nurses and CNA’s at the Natchitoches Community Care Center, and the staff of Natchitoches Regional Medical Center for all of their loving care and assistance during their time of need.
