Walter McClendon, Sr.

Walter (Mac) passed away at the Kansas City Hospice House at 1021 pm on November 8, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mac was 80 years old and was born on August 19, 1931 in Baird, Texas. He was a retired military veteran with service in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Mac was preceded in death by his parents Josephus and Sarah Jane Heart McClendon, elder brother Bob, and older sister Helen. Mac is survived by his wife of 52 years Frankie McClendon, one son Walter Jr., daughter-in-law DeeAnna, one grandchild Allison, and two sisters Winnie Mazurek of Little Rock Arkansas and Martha McGuire of Miles, Texas. Funeral services will be provided by Blanchard St. Denis in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Viewing will be 5 to 9 pm on Sunday, November 13th, with a Rosary Service at 7:00 pm. Services will be held at 10 am on Monday, November 14th with internment at the Gorum Cemetery in Gorum, Louisiana following the service.
