A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Bernice McDonald will be held on Saturday, the 26th of November 2011 in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches with the Reverend Roy McDonald serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Friday, the 25th of November 2011 from 5p.m. until 8 p.m. at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.
Bernice McDonald, age 83, of Natchitoches, departed this life on the 24th of November 2011 in Natchitoches. Mrs. McDonald was a retired School Food Service employee with the Natchitoches Parish School Board. She loved to cook for her family and cherished being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. While she loved anything that bloomed, the Iris was her favorite flower.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Patsy Jackson of Natchitoches and Jeanette Gilley of Shreveport; six grandchildren, Angela Jackson Hopper and husband Charles of Lake Providence, David Jackson and his wife Sterling of Bernice, Patrick Norris and his wife Amy of Shreveport, Lowell McDonald and his wife Danette of Denham Springs, Tanya Wyatt Frost and her husband Bill of San Antonio, Texas and Christina Norris Knighton of Shreveport; Mamaw was also blessed with twelve great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews and friends that loved her so.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Glen Clary, Doye Sepulvado, Gene Supulvado, Michael Gallien, Howard "Chubby" Meshell, and Reverend Jimmy McDonald.
Though now she resides in heavenly places with Angels, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those that love her so.
