A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Alice Coutee will be 11 am Saturday, December 3, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville, LA with Reverend Kenneth Obiekwe officiating. Interment will follow at Cloutierville Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 10 am until service time at the church.
Mrs. Alice Coutee passed away Monday, November 28, 2011 in Shreveport, LA. She was born April 13, 1943 to the late Amos Vercher, Sr. and late WIlle Mae (Rachal) Vercher in Cloutierville, LA. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Coutee, Jr., sister, Velma Vercher and her brother, Amos Vercher, Jr. Alice was a loving, kind hearted and generous person. She gave unconditionally to anyone needing help. Anyone that knew Alice knew how much she valued wearing fine jewelry. She was the owner of a jewelry store where she designed and made fine pieces of jewelry for her customers and friends to enjoy.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Yolanda Poindexter and her husband, Quincy and Alecia Coutee-Wallace and her husband Ealon, Sr.; her close companion, Robert “Bob” Masteller; sisters, Bettie Arlene Vercher and Judith Scott and her husband Charles, her grandchildren, Chanel Givens, Joseph Walllace, Allyson Wallace, Baja Poindexter and Ealon Wallace, Jr. Special Cousin, sister and friend, Mary Monette, two special sisters ; Violetta Ivory and Cassie Mae Robinson, special nieces, Tamanika Wilson and Angelica Scott , adopted daughter, Theresa Bruno as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends.
Those Honored to serve as pallbearers are Columbus “Jody” LaCour, Quincy Poindexter, David Lee Robinson, Ealon Wallace, Sr., Joseph Wallace, and Quinton Wilson.
