Eleanor Fredericks Carter, of Clear Lake was called home by the Lord on July 27, 2007. Mrs. Carter was a lifelong resident of Cleat Lake, neat Goldonna, LA. She is survived by her devoted husband of fifty years, Marvin Edward Carter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ada Fredericks and one sister, Betty Rachal. She is survived by three brothers, Roy, Jr. and wife Melissa Fredericks of Clear Lake, LA, Paul and wife Paula Fredericks of Port Vincent, LA, and Willie and wife Della Fredericks of Clear Lake, LA; as well as two sisters, Shirley Easterling of Clear Lake and Dianne Page and husband Frank of Clear Lake. She also leaves behind three sons, Michael Carter of Natchitoches, LA, David Carter and wife Hootie of Baton Rouge, LA, and Jimbo Carter and wife Michelle of Baton Rouge, LA; and two daughters,
Sandra Carter Gourdon and husband David of Baton Rouge, LA, and Carolyn LaCaze and husband Patrick of Natchitoches, LA. Mrs Carter was especially fond of her grandchildren, Heath Carter and wife Jennifer of Port Vincent, LA, Zeb Carter and wife Amanda of Port Vincent, LA, Heather Carter of New Orleans, LA, Jenna Howell of Natchitoches, Taylor Carter of Port Vincent, Bailey Gourdon of Port Vincent, Kayla and Cody Carter of Watson, and Zack Carter of Clear Lake. She will be greatly missed by her great-grandchildren as well, Dalton and Maddie Carter of Port Vincent and Gracie, Raven, and Eli Carter of Port Vincent. Along with her children and grandchildren, she considered the following to be her extended family: Ricky Hunter and wife Liz of Sikes, LA, Sheryl Villnuerve and husband Erroll of Denham Springs, LA, Kitsy Ronny and Jacob George of Neches TX, Chance Hunter of Neches TX, Shane LaCaze and Tina Poche of Natchitoches, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as numerous beloved friends.
Mrs. Carter was an active member of the American Cancer Society, two time cancer survivor, active participant in the "Race for a Cure" for several years, and Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher at the Goldonna Baptist Church of Goldonna, LA. She was a Department Manager of the Wal-Mart Corporation, prior to her retirement after twenty years' service. During her retirement she enjoyed time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as many friends, who were touched by her love and faith in Christ.
Funeral services are under the direction of Blanchard St Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Visitation will be 5 PM to 9 PM Saturday July the 28th, 2007 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of the funeral home at 2 PM Sunday, July 29, 2007, with Rev, Doyle McGrew of Goldonna Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Clear Lake Cemetery, at St. Peter's Catholic Chapel, near Goldonna, LA. Pallbearers will be Ron Sanders, Steve Stephens, Erroll Villneurve, Ronny Carter, Billy Ray Jones, Ricky Hunter, Chance Hunter, and J.J. Page.
