A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Agatha LaCaze Gallien will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Isle Brevelle, LA with Fr. Jacob Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at St. Ann's Cemetery at Old River near Natchez, LA. The family invites friends and relatives for a visitation Tuesday, December 6, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA.
Agatha, affectionately known as “Miss Aggie & Granny” passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2011 in Shreveport, LA. She was a “Cradle Catholic Christian”, a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Isle Brevelle, LA. After the death of her husband, Neville Gallien in 2004, she moved to Bossier City, LA., and attended St. Jude’s Catholic Church. During her adult life she was an active participant in many professional, religious, and social organizations. Her favorite was The Christian Mother’s Organization of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She received a spiritual blessing when she visited the sick and shut-ins, bringing them communion and praying with them and their families. She lived and practiced her faith as she offered her nursing skills to her fellow parishioners and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Neville Gallien, daughter, Natalie, her parents, her brother and sister.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Adelise Pittard and her husband Lane, of Bossier City, LA.; four grandsons, Morris Arnold, Robert Arnold, Rob Pittard, and Don Pittard; her only granddaughter, Belinda Arnold, and three great grandsons; John Arnold, Brendan Arnold, and Michael Arnold. Her very special friends; Kathy Bostick, Emma W. Johnson, Gloria Johnson, Beth Robinson and family, the Darrell Hickman Family, the Andrew Vallien Family, Harleen and David Robinson, Robbie Vance, sister’s Mary Ann and Nancy.
Honoring her to serve as pallbearers will be Belinda Arnold, Morris Arnold, Robert Arnold, Rob Pittard, Don Pittard, John Arnold, Brendon Arnold, and Michael Arnold.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Sullivan, Larry Hanisee, Melvin Moreau, and Darrell Hickman.
