Funeral services for Shirley R. Jackson will be held at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2011 in Natchitoches with the Reverend Ken Evans officiating. Interment will follow at Coldwater Cemetery in Hagewood. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Shirley Jackson, 80 years of age, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011 at the Courtyard of Natchitoches. Shirley was born May 14, 1931 to Vivian and Helen Knapp Reynolds in Alexandria, Minnesota. She was a member of the Grand Ecore Baptist Church in Natchitoches and worked and retired from Mike Murphy State Farm Insurance in Natchitoches. She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Jackson; her parents, Vivian and Helen Knapp Reynolds; her brothers, Kenny and Harlyn Reynolds. Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Gloria Kelly of Seattle, Washington, Harriet Tafoya and husband Ernie of Albequerque, New Mexico, Yvonne Armstrong of Seattle, Washington; her brother, Willard Reynolds of Seattle, Washington; her sister in law, Myrtis Cureington of Winnsboro; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Mark Massia, Melvin Jackson, Donald Howell, John Howell, Patrick Healy and Robert Terrell.
