A Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth “Bettye” Bond Wenner will be held at 10 a.m. on the Thursday, the 29th of December 2011 at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Natchitoches with Father Irion St. Romain officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. with recitation of the holy rosary to begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, the 28th of December 2011 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Elizabeth Wenner, 86 years of age, passed away after attending a Christmas Eve celebration with her extended family and friends. Elizabeth was born December 11, 1925 to the late Calvin Alanzo Roberts and Minnie Posey Roberts in Castor, LA. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughter’s Court Regina Pacis #1372 at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Natchitoches. She served as grand regent from 1989-1993 and was named Catholic Daughter of the year for 1994. She was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Gerald M. Wenner, Jr. and wife Julie of Park City, Utah, Judith Miller and husband Hal of Bossier City, Janet Ayers of Bossier City, Jeannette Eldridge and husband Billie of Bossier City, Nancy Kelly and husband Paul of Bossier City, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, her sister, Mary Rita Methvin of Mooringsport. She is preceded in death by her husband Gerald M. Wenner, Sr., her parents, Calvin and Minnie Roberts, and 9 brothers and sisters. Those honored to serve as Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Gary Lee Toler, Christopher Miller, Billie Eldridge, Jr., Gerald Eldridge, Daniel Koruna, Jackson Davis and Mark Smith. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the following individuals: Dr. Michael Sewell, the staff at Merrill Gardens/Horizon Bay, and the devoted staff at Pilgrim Manor.
