Thelma Jewel Wester

A service to remember the life of Mrs. Jewel Castaing Wester will be 11 am Monday, January 16, 2012 at the Provencal United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Paul Grace and Rev. Betty Dew officiating. Interment will follow at Provencal Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Provencal United Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Wester passed away Friday, January 13, 2012 in Shreveport, LA due to complications from surgery. She was born September 7, 1926 to the late Leon Castaing and the late Ollie (Carney) Castaing in Flora, LA. She married Orie “Bill” Wester on September 22, 1942. She was a member of the Provencal United Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 67 years, and her son-in-law, Lanny Cook. She is survived by her children, Billy Wester and his wife Barbara, Francine Wester Cook, Richard Wester and his wife Carol, Steve Wester and his wife Gwen, and Suzanne Wester Custis and her husband Marc; twelve grandchildren, Col. Sean Wester, Jason Wester, Selena Wester, Caleb Wester, Layna Cook, Lyne C. Robinson, Maj. Daniel Wester, Haley W.Schmidt, Shana Natula, Josh Wester and Lacey W. Bonvillion, and Carson Custis; thirteen great-grandchildren, Krystal, Kelsey, Kourtney, Kyla, Haley, Jackson, Eli, Landen, Makenna, Evan, Ascian, Lincoln and Parker; and one brother, Charles Castaing Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Josh Robinson, Jeff Robertson, Tommy Smith, Heath Wester, Shane Richardson, and Jerry Wester.
