Funeral services for Thomas Edwin Isgitt will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. Howard Pennington and Rev. Jim Manning officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Mount Cemetery in Robeline, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on January 27, 2012 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA.
Thomas “Eddie” Isgitt, 66 years of age, passed away January 25, 2012. He was born August 17, 1945 to the late Anthony Isgitt and Lula Kay Isgitt in Many, LA. Eddie, also known as “Slapjack”, was a strong willed and hard working man. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather, and loved his family dearly. He spent a lifetime working on oil and gas pipelines as a welder and chief inspector. In his later years, he found a new passion for the Lord. He was a faithful member of Emmanuel Gospel Church in Fisher, LA. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was a member of the Kasatchie Masonic Lodge #156 in Mt.Carmel, LA for 45 years. Eddie lived a simple life, but influenced all who met him and left a great legacy for his family. He put his family first in everything in his life, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by three sons, Waylon Isgitt and fiancé Amber of Hemphill, TX, Shaun Isgitt and wife Julie of Many, LA, and Brandon Isgitt and wife Connie of Belmont, LA; eight grandchildren, Carson Isgitt, Cade Isgitt, Conner Isgitt, Erica Isgitt, Aaron Isgitt, Jonathan Isgitt, Kellie Isgitt, and Dolton Isgitt; two brothers, Wayne Isgitt and wife Sissy of Many, LA and Reggie Isgitt and wife Laura of Longview, TX; one sister, Patty Mothershed and husband Earl of Carrollton, TX; two sister-in-laws, Paula Behan and husband Bobbie of Robeline, LA and Maxine Slater and husband Buddy of Natchitoches, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Delane Isgitt; and his parents, Anthony Isgitt and Lula Isgitt.
