Graveside services for Billy Williams, Sr. will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. Wayne Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Lawn Cemetery.
Bill Williams, 80 years of age, passed away January 30, 2012. He was born August 3, 1931 to the late Talton Walter Williams and Inez Knotts Williams in Longview, TX. Bill was a caring and giving person, and would help anyone in need. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing. He was a plumber by profession, but also worked as an oil field contractor for Placid Oil Company. He served his country in the Marine Corps for eight years during the Korean Conflict. Bill was a member of the Phoenix Masonic Lodge # 38 in Natchitoches, LA for 48 years as well as a member of the Shriners. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is surived by his wife of 56 years, Jewell Cook Williams of Natchitoches, LA; one daughter, Diane Williams Stewart and husband Michael of Natchitoches, LA; one son, Bill Williams, Jr. of Natchitoches, LA; two grandchildren, Travis Stewart of Bossier, LA and Natalie Stewart of Natchitoches, LA; one great grandson, Conner Stewart; one cousin, H.B Williams of Avon Park, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Talton Walter Williams and Inez Knotts Williams; one sister, Aline Hobson; and one brother, Jack P. Williams.
