Wanda Jean Broadwater

June 3, 1936 — August 19, 2007

Wanda Jean Nealy Broadwater passed away Sunday, August 19, 2007 at the age of 71. She was the loving mother of Adrienne Broadwater of Richardson, TX, Barry Broadwater, Jr (wife Robin) of Antioch, TN and Preston Broadwater (wife Leah) of Flora, LA and brother Carson Nealy of Wimauma, FL. Daughter of Preston Nealy and May Bell Gallien Nealy. She is also survived and fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Casey, Brandon, Kelly and Cody Broadwater, Laura and Brandon Rogers, great-grandchildren, MaLeah and MaCade Thompson. Born in Natchitoches, LA, she was a 1954 graduate of Natchitoches High School and attended Northwestern State University. She spent her earlier years in St. Francisville, LA and later returned to Natchitoches where she was employed and retired from Natchitoches Parish Hospital as a Certified Medical Transcriptionist, with 27 years of service. She was a member of the American Health Information Management Association, American Association of Medical Transcribers and an Accredited Record Technician. She was an inspiration and mentor to many and will be dearly missed by everyone whose life she touched. Pallbearers will be Bruce Baker, Rodney Baker, Winston Cedars, Curtis LaCour, Craig Rachal, and Sammy Robideaux. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 22 from 6-9 pm and services will be conducted by Rev. Carolyn Fletcher on Thursday, August 23, 2007 at 10 am at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the ICU (Unit 3) at Rapides Regional Medical Center for their care, compassion and tireless efforts in the care of our mother.
