Sallie was born November 21, 1960 in Natchitoches, Louisiana but resided in Calhoun, Louisiana for the last 20 years. She fought long and hard for a miracle with the leukemia she was diagnosed with for a year and 4 months but found that God had a homecoming that she needed to attend.
She leaves behind a wonderful strong loving husband, Kevin Jones, who truly fought the battle every step of the way with her, two sons Matt Jones and his girlfriend Dawn Allison of Calhoun, Louisiana and Jeremy Jones and his wife Holly and two beautiful special grandsons whom she adored Justin and Johnathan Jones of Eros, Louisiana. She also leaves behind among all her many many friends from her walk in life; her dad, John Ammons of Natchitoches; two brothers Johnny Ammons and his wife Marion; Jimmy Ammons and his wife Paula both from Natchitoches, Louisiana; and two sisters Jerrie Choate and her husband Dennis of Mansfield, Louisiana and Kristi Ammons and her fiancé Shannon Fair of Natchitoches, Louisiana. She had lots of nieces and nephews and extended family on both hers and Kevin's side of the family that will greatly miss her.
The family would love to send so many many thank-yous to all the people who were in constant prayer for her and especially for the family that became a part of hers & Kevin's as well as becoming a part of theirs, Vincent (Bubba) and Carol Bruno of Pearland, Texas, a family that open their doors to live at their home while she battled the leukemia at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. God has a special place in heaven for this family. They would also like to thank Denmon Engineering of Monroe Louisiana for being a great Employer to Kevin while he battled this fight with Sallie and M-N Utilities of Monroe Louisiana whom also was a great employer to Sallie.
Pallbearers are Chris and Jon Oldemeyer, Denney Choate, Forest Erwin (Tree), Craig Newton (Fig) and Jon Parker.
