A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. LeRoy Gallien will be 11 am Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Holy Cross Catholic Church of Natchitoches with Father Jason Gootee officiating. Interment will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery at Old River near Natchez, LA. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 5 pm until 9 pm at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary will be 7 pm on Tuesday, during the visitation, in the funeral home chapel.
LeRoy, 83, of Flora, LA entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 24, 2012. He was born February 7, 1929 in Cloutierville LA to Eddie Gallien, Sr. and Lillie (Brevelle) Gallien.
He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. For many years, LeRoy was a lector at St. Anne Catholic Church. He was a devout catholic man. He was an expert auto mechanic his entire life and a master of his trade. He retired in January of 2012 from Valley Farmers Co-Op. He also helped his friends with automobile repairs in his small shop near his home. In his younger days, he served in the Army during the Korean War. LeRoy was known for being a hard working family man with honesty, gentleness, and a quiet nature.
Mr. Gallien was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie, Sr. and Lillie Gallien; brother, Eddie Gallien, Jr.; sisters, Lillie Mae Basco and Al Marie Maggio; son-in-law, Harvey Lynn Bennett.
He Leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Audrey Rachal Gallien; daughters, Deborah Hernandez and her husband Stan and Angela Foucheux and her fiancé’ Garlin Hernandez; son-in-law, Tim Foucheux; son, Derryl Gallien and his wife Jennifer; five grandchildren, Amanda Everage and her husband Cole, Dustin Bennett, Tyler Bennett and his fiancé Britney Stewart, Lauren Boudreaux and her husband Micah, Meaghan Foucheux, Chad James and his wife Missy and Jesse James; four great grandchildren, Xander Long, Victor Everage, Andy James and Landry James; brother Kenneth Gallien as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Dustin Bennett, Tyler Bennett, Jesse James, Lesley Bennett, Roger Fredieu and Glen Vascocu. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad James, Fred Carter and Vester Wilkerson.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria and Promise Hospital of Bossier City for the excellent care he received.
