Stanley George Hinds

Funeral service for Stanley Hinds will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Deacon Joe Peltier officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Gardens, located at Hwy 165, in Pollock, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on April 9, 2012 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Ret. Chief Master Sergeant Stanley Hinds, 91 years of age, passed away April 5, 2012. Sergeant Stanley was born October 14, 1920 to the late George Hinds and Henriette Rousseau in Newark, NJ. He was a two year Army Air Corps and a thirty year U. S. Air Force veteran. After retiring in 1974 from the armed forces, he resided in Pollock, LA until his wife passed in 1997. He moved to Natchitoches in 1998 to live with his son Michael and his wife Judy, where he became a part of the Peltier family. He was an avid watcher of baseball, football, and birds. He loved his music and playing solitaire. Sergeant Hinds also worked mornings with his children Mike and Judy at the Tin House BBQ and at Burgerbee’s from 1998 until 2005 when they all retired. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his twin brother, George H. Hinds of Deville, LA; four sons, Michael Hinds and wife Judy of Natchitoches, LA, Stanley Hinds of Lubbock, TX, George Hinds and wife Debbie of Pollock, LA, and Richard Hinds of Pollock, LA; four daughter-in-laws, numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and most of all his close companion and friend, his dog, Bud-e-reaux, also known as Buddie the rat terrier. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sydney Grace Hinds; his parents, George Oscar Hinds and Henrietta Rousseau Hinds; one brother, Robert Hinds; one sister, Helen Hinds Savey; and two sons, Pete and Rodger Hinds. The family would like to thank all of the family and friends that visited Sergeant Hinds, and would especially like to thank Deacon Joe Peltier for all of the prayer and hours spent sitting with him. The family would also like to thank Butch and Joye Lawson for all of their help and support. May God bless you all as He did Sergeant Hinds.
