Lawanda Merle Holland

Lawanda Merle Holland, age 80, of Provencal, LA, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in Natchitoches, La. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA, where the family will receive friends from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday, September 13, 2007. The funeral service will be held at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home at 10:30 AM Friday, September 14, 2007, with Rev. James McDonald officiating. Interment will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Vowells Mill, LA. Lawanda was born in Crane, TX on July 11, 1927. She lived most of her life in the Provencal/Bellwood, LA area. She married the love of her life on February 13, 1947. She and Mr. Freeman have been wed 60 years. She liked to sew, read, and garden; and had very beautiful flower gardens at her home. She was a member of New Cedron Baptist Church. She was a great mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Adams and Jennie Moss Adams; and two brothers, Harry and Charles Adams. She is survived by her husband Freeman Holland of Provencal, LA; one daughter, Jennise Martin and husband Don of Provencal, LA; one son, Darryl Holland and wife Carmen of Provencal, LA; four grandchildren, Michelle Brundige and husband Cregg of Provencal, LA, Donnie Martin and wife Jennifer of Natchitoches, LA, Amber Holland of Provencal, LA, and Justin Holland and wife Michelle of Provencal, LA; one great-grandchild, Kylee "her little doll" Brundige of Provencal, LA; and one sister, Pat Holland of Provencal, LA.
