Dennis Hicks

Funeral services for James Dennis Hicks will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Grand Ecore Baptist Church, Natchitoches, LA, with Reverends Wayne Hicks and David Matlock officiating. Interment will follow at Fern Park Cemetery, Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 24 at the church beginning at 5:00 p.m. Dennis, age 54, passed away suddenly at his home on April 21st. He served as a deacon for over 20 years and was a member of the Grand Ecore Baptist Church. He was employed as an automotive mechanic at Smith’s Garage for many years. The one thing Dennis enjoyed most was spending time with his grandchildren and his church family. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Patricia Ann Smith Hicks, children Christopher James Hicks and wife Nicole Campbell Hicks, Aimee Diane Hicks Edwards and husband Brent Edwards, and Clayton Henry Hicks; grandchildren Madison Marie Hicks, Caleb Edwards, Chase Edwards, Cameron Edwards, and Jessalinn Edwards; and his mother Lucy Fay LaCour Hicks; sisters Sherry Ballard and Carol Hebert, He was preceded in death by his father James Carson Hicks. Pallbearers will be his brother-in-laws Allen Walker, Alben Walker, Larry Smith, and Ronnie Smith and co-workers
