Funeral service for Viola Mary Metoyer Conant will be held 11 AM Wednesday, September 26, 2007 in St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Jamie Medina officiating. Burial will be in Memory Lawn Cemetery at Natchitoches,La. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 25, 2007 from 6 PM until 9 PM with a rosary at 7 PM. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 26, 2007 from 10 AM until 11 AM in the church. Mrs. Conant, 87, of Natchitoches, La., died Saturday, September 22, 2007, in Heritage Manor Rehabilitation and Retirement Center at Natchitoches, La. She was a native and lifelong resident of Natchitoches, La. She was a retired clerk in retail sales in Natchitoches, La. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She is survived by her husband of 66 years John O. Conant of Natchitoches, LA; three daughters, Mary Ann Wigely and husband Alfred, Jr. of Natchitoches, LA, Linda Conant and husband Emanuel of New York, NY, and Cecilia Conant of Shreveport, LA; one son, Gerald J. Conant and wife Jeanette of Natchitoches, LA; eight grandchildren, Cynthia Wigely, Bridget Wigely-Metoyer and husband Silton, Jr. Alfred Wigely, III and wife Denise of Natchitoches, LA, James Ernest Metoyer III, John Anthony Metoyer, Evan Michael Metoyer, Tina Marie Conant, and Stephanie Conant; six great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Nora Lee Metoyer. She was preceded in death by one son, John Martin Conant, three brothers, and four sisters. Pallbearers will be Randall Wigely, Silton Metoyer III, John Anthony Metoyer, Evan Michael Metoyer, Louis Ray Metoyer, and Stanley Roque.
