Funeral services for William Edward Nolley will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. Daniel Lowe officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Methodist Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. 71457, LA. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on May 11, 2012 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. William “Ed” Nolley, 97 years of age, passed away May 8, 2012. Ed was born January 18, 1915 to the late Albert Benny Nolley and Eva McDonald Nolley in Natchitoches, LA. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 and was wounded from a mortar fragment during battle in New Georgia, in the Pacific Theatre, during WWII. He returned home and aquired a farm on Bayou Pierre, where he raised cattle and gardened. He lived a simple life, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was survived by one brother, Ralph Nolley of Natchitoches, LA; one sister, Gladys Brazzel of Bossier City, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Benny Nolley and Eva Lena McDonald Nolley; fours sisters; and three brothers.
