Graveside service for John Earle Ray will be 3 pm Friday, May 11, 2012 at Kisatchie Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home.
Mr. Ray, 80 years of age, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at his residence in Kisatchie. He was born February 26, 1932. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired as an oilfield supervisor. He loved the outdoors and hanging out at “the camp” and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Claude Ray and his wife Brenda of Broussard, Louisiana; daughters, Paula Ray of Natchitoches, Rita Shilling and her husband Richard of Gorum, Louisiana, and Christi Vanoye and husband, Carlos of Nashville, TN; brothers, Charles Ray and his wife Dottie of Overland Park, KS and Julian Ray of Bellwood; grandchildren, Justin Shilling and wife Beverly, Jessica Shilling Romero and husband Linus, John Shilling and wife Cheryl,Selina Ray, Sonja Ray, and Claude Ray II and Ethan Vanoye; great-grandchildren, Jessalinn, Callie, Matthew, Grace, Victoria, Caroline, Annaliece, Emery, Abram, and Madison.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Kirby Evans, Ted Cook, Marion Dodd, Carlos Vanoye, Ethan Vanoye, Justin Shilling. Honorary pallbearers will be Dewayne Smith, Matthew Shilling, Claude Ray II, Gabriel Castro, Junior Dowden and J.D. Dowden.
