Viola Jones

A celebration to remember the life of Viola Jones, who was known throughout the community as a mother to more than just her children, “Momma Jones” was known for her famous burgers, country cooking and her amazing blessings to anyone who encountered her. We would like to invite her many friends to her homecoming with Jesus on May 18, 2012 at 2 pm. in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Brother Mike Honzell officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Mrs. Jones, a 42 year resident of Campti, passed away Tuesday May 15, 2012 in Shreveport, La. She was born October 21, 1923 to the late Cissero and Alto Poole in Flora, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Wilson Jones; her parents; a daughter, Fay Moore; and a son, Johnny Jones; grandsons, Royce Evans and Richard Scalf. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Wilson Jones, David Jones, Jerry Jones and his wife Geneva, Harvey Jones and his wife Lisa, Billy Jones and Chuck Jones; her daughters, Louise Jones, Gay Johnson, Cathy Perot and her husband Ricky, Teresa Milton, Annie Mitchell and her husband Cecil; companion, Salvador Reyes. She was blessed with 31 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Pallbearers will be her sons: Wilson Jones, David Jones, Jerry Jones, Harvey Jones, Billy Jones and Chuck Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be: Ricky Perot, Robert Morgan, Tommy Jones, Dillon Hemperley, Cecil Mitchell, Scotty Jones, Marcus Holden, Brian Jones, Randy Perot, Jeremy Perot, Scott Mitchell, Tim Evans, Wayne Jones, Charlie Jones, Jamie Jones, and Corey Jones.
