Joyce Marie Durr Hendricks

Services celebrating the life of Joyce Hendricks will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 21, 2012 at Beulah United Methodist Church in Marthaville, LA with Rev. John Foster, Rev. Richard Kaufman, and Eddie Hendricks officiating. Interment will follow at Beulah Cemetery in Marthaville, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on May 20, 2012 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA and from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at the church prior to the service Monday. Joyce Durr Hendricks, 92, of Marthaville died Thursday, May 17, 2012, peacefully in her home, after a lengthy illness. Ms. Hendricks was a member of the Eastern Star for 50 plus years. She began her career at OCS and later was employed by Marthaville Elem./Jr. High where she retired after 19 years. Her parents, Travis W. and Amanda Mallett Durr; siblings, Doris Berry, Romise Gamble and Travis Durr, Jr.; husband C. D. Hendricks; and children, Emmett Gene Hendricks, Roy Gene Hendricks and Amanda Hendricks Cater, preceded her in death. Joyce Hendricks leaves to cherish her memory her son, Terry Gene Hendricks; her brother, Kenneth Durr and wife Gloria; her grandchildren, Casey Hendricks and wife Lisa, Rhetta Cater and Roy Welch; step grandchildren, Brady Welch and wife Angel and Shadie Welch; great grandchildren, Ella and Ben Hendricks and Kaiden Hayes; step great grandchildren, Bo Dixie, Bambi and Tuff Welch; and a host of loving family members and friends. The family sends a special thanks to Harmony Home Health, Natchitoches Hospice, Natchitoches Regional Medical Center, and Shadie Welch for all of their loving care and kindness.
