Funeral service for Rae Black Laborde will be held 10 AM Tuesday, October 2, 2007 in The Church of the Immaculate Conception with Rev. Stephen Scott Chemino officiating. Burial will be in Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. Visitation will be Monday, October 1, 2007 from 5 PM until 8 PM with a rosary at 7 PM and visitation on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 8 AM until 9:30 AM in the funeral home. Mrs. Laborde, 83, of Natchitoches, LA., died Saturday, September 29, 2007, at Natchitoches Nursing and Rehabilitation in Natchitoches, LA. She was a native of Natchitoches, LA She worked formerly for Louisiana Unemployment Agency in Natchitoches, LA., Farmers Home Administration in St. Joseph, LA., and Louisiana Agricultural Extension Service in Opelousas, LA. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. . She was preceded in death by her parents, George Black, Sr. and Thelma Gainey Black; sisters, Mildred Black Norman and Shirley Black Hughes; brother, George W. Black II. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Luther J. Laborde of Natchitoches, LA; one son, John Laborde and wife Barbara Atwood Laborde of Natchitoches, LA; two grandsons, David J. Laborde of Baton Rouge, LA and Michael J. Laborde of Natchitoches, LA.; nieces, Carolyn Masson of Shreveport, LA., Cindy Black Bice, and Kathy Black Eastmond both of Saline, LA.; nephews, Charles Norman and Richard Norman both of Natchitoches, LA., G.W. Black III of Olive Branch, MS, and Michael Hughes of Tampa, FL Pallbearers will be David J. Laborde, Michael J. Laborde, Charles R. Norman, Richard A. Norman, Stephen Masson, and Ray Ponthieaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Hill, Jr. and Rodney Laborde.
